Activities

The group meets to make lefse and socialize. Excess lefse is sold at Hosanna with proceeds donated to ELCA World Hunger. The fellowship activity is open to all Hosanna members (young and old). Non-member friends and relatives are also welcome. The group meets once a year on the Saturday prior to Thanksgiving. 

The members of this group provide a sitter service for Hosanna member’s children one evening every other month during the school year (September, November, January, March and May.) Families may bring their children to Hosanna and Empty Nest Hosanna members will service them from 6pm-10pm.  There are games, movies, snacks, and crafts.  This service has been provided the 2nd Friday day of those month.

Lenten and Advent Soup Suppers are served during the seasons of Lent (before Easter) and Advent (before Christmas).  You are invited to attend these dinners on Wednesday evenings then stay and join us for worship.

Hilltoppers is an open group of ladies and men age 55 and older. We get together for catered lunch and conversation the 2nd Tuesday of each month. A donation is collected to cover the cost of the meal. Please contact the church office by the weekend prior if you are interested in attending.

March is the month for Minnesota Food Share’s yearly campaign. One of the ways Hosanna supports this campaign is to host a “Chili Competition”. Our competitors bring in their best chili recipe to vie for the coveted title of “Hosanna Chili Champ”.

Once a year, the youth of Hosanna are invited to participate in an overnight time (at the church) of games, service projects, baking, watching movies, team building, fun and fellowship.

Hosanna hosts a Weekend Retreat for the women of the congregation in the spring at Good Earth Village in Spring Valley. This retreat is an opportunity for relaxation of the body, reflection on God’s word, refreshment of spirit and soul and fellowship with friends.
