Learning for All

Children and their families have the opportunity to learn about God’s love and forgiveness in a variety of settings.   The pandemic has allowed us to discover a variety of ways to grow together.  Check out the variety of opportunities offered.

Each summer Hosanna offers a staff & volunteer led educational opportunity for children to grow in community with one another while learning about God’s love for all. Each evening, participants met outdoors for music, story time & science, games & service projects. 

Christmas Program

Each year Hosanna’s children have an opportunity to share the story of Jesus’ birth through a special Christmas program worship. Christmas Story – Covid Style an outdoor Christmas program.  The cold December day did not stop these children from sharing the good news of Christmas. 

Confirmation
Confirmation

Students in 7th-8th grade are invited to participate in the Confirmation ministry each year from Sept. – May. This 2 year ministry has youth exploring, learning and discussing faith issues and the specifics of the Lutheran faith. Students meet on Wednesday evening with staff and adult confirmation leaders. 

Highschool Huddle
Hosanna has a vibrant program of youth ministry. It is about connecting with students–specifically those in grades 7-12.  High School Huddle meets Sunday mornings after worship.  Youth are invited to come for fellowship, build relationships with Christ and with each other, and grow in their faith! High School Huddle meets Sunday mornings after worship with fellowship activities throughout the year.
Hannah Bible Study
Hannah Bible Study

Women gather twice a month during the school year to study God’s word using the Gather Magazine of the ELCA. We take turns leading the study and have meaningful discussions, fellowship and Biblical exploration. Meetings are held on the second and fourth Wednesday from 1 – 2:30 pm at Hosanna Lutheran Church.

Miriam Bible Study

The women’s Miriam Bible study group meets on the 2nd Friday of the month at 10:00 am at Hosanna Lutheran Church.  We have a time of fellowship and interesting Bible Study.

Women, Wine, and Word

Join with other women gathering once a month at a local establishment to share in a glass of wine, Bible study, and conversation. Our Bible study’s focus will be on the women in the Bible. Come and share in thoughtful discussion over a beverage. The Women, Wine and Word Group meets the 3rd Thursday of the month from 7 -8:30 pm at a local establishment.

This group meets twice a month on the 2nd and 4th Friday from 7:30 – 8:30 am with the exception of June, July and August.

Book Discussion
Book Discussion

Hosanna’s Book Discussion group is for anyone who enjoys reading. The discussion is informal and questions found at the end of each book, or on the internet, aid in the discussion. Books are chosen at the end of each year and they vary from classics, to non-fiction to popular fiction. Hosanna’s Book Discussion group meets on the third Saturday of the month at 9:00 am from January – May and September – November.

Stephen Ministry Training
Stephen Ministry Training

Stephen Ministry Training equips participants with the skills to walk alongside a person who is facing challenges in life, providing comfort, support, a listening ear, and distinctively Christian care of scripture and prayer. Those being trained will be provided with tools and support and do not need to be trained in counseling or be a biblical scholar.
