Education

Children and their families have the opportunity to learn about God’s love and forgiveness in a variety of settings.

Each summer Hosanna offers an educational opportunity for children/families to grow in community with one another while learning about God’s love for all. Outdoor story time, music, games and exploration are all utilized for this ministry.

Sunday School time is held after worship on Sundays (during the school year). Youth continue to learn about God, His love for us and, in turn, our love for others.

Students in 7th-8th grade are invited to participate in the Confirmation ministry each year from Sept. – May. This two year ministry has youth exploring, learning and discussing faith issues and the specifics of the Lutheran faith. Affirmation of Baptism takes place in the fall of one’s freshman year.

Hosanna hosts several Bible Study opportunities throughout the month.  Please contact Hosanna’s office or check our weekly publications to find a group that will meet your needs.

Hosanna’s Book Discussion group is for anyone who enjoys reading. The discussion is informal and questions found at the end of each book, or on the internet, aid in the discussion. Books are chosen at the end of each year and they vary from classics, to non-fiction to popular fiction. Hosanna’s Book Discussion group meets on the third Saturday of the month at 9:00 am from January – May and September – November.

Stephen Ministry Training equips participants with the skills to walk alongside a person who is facing challenges in life, providing comfort, support, a listening ear, and distinctively Christian care of scripture and prayer. Those being trained will be provided with tools and support and do not need to be trained in counseling or be a biblical scholar.

A gathering for ELCA Youth is held every three years. In 2027, the gathering will take place in Minneapolis. Hosanna youth will be attending.
