Red Cross Shelter Ministry Team

When people are temporarily displaced from their homes, the Red Cross responds by opening and operating shelters. In Rochester, Hosanna Lutheran is one of those shelters and is staffed by members of the Hosanna Red Cross Shelter Team. Team members attend training, planning and simulation sessions to learn how to provide a safe and pleasant environment for people who have to leave their homes during and after a disaster.

If you are interested in joining the shelter team, please contact Jane Johnson at 252-8287 or email her at kgjjej@charter.net. There is an initial 5-hour Red Cross training that is required.

June 3, 2009 - Hosanna was presented with the Partner Award by the SE MN Chapter of the American Red Cross at its annual meeting and luncheon. The Hosanna Shelter Team was noted for the following: keeping up with regular trainings; continuing to add new members; and for building up a strong team. Congratulations to the entire 29 member Shelter Team!
